Are you making this LinkedIn mistake (I definitely am 😬)
Hello there!Â
This email comes to you from a field in the Brecon Beacons. At the time of writing (from my dining room) I am all set to go watch some live bands at Green Man Festival. So depending on when you're reading this, I'm either stood watching a band. Or more likely, queueing for the portaloo with a child for the 15th time that day and missing it.Â
I'm betting on the second being true.Â
So this week, I'm joined by LinkedIn expert Sabrina Lee. There are no Actually Useful Show Notes this week (sorry - I was busy looking for a missing welly) but the show is so very much full of helpful LinkedIn tips.Â
My favourite being a MASSIVE mistake I'm making with the platform. Even though I do alright on it. Which goes to show there is always more to learn from folks.Â
Now - good marketing people would say listen to the show and find out this mistake. But I don't like doing that so I'm going to tell you what it is here. And then you can choose to listen to the full episode and get more of Sabrina's awesome advice if you want it.Â
So the big mistake is putting all your effort into content and ignoring the other elements you need to engage with in the channel. Now, I'm not saying I ignore all of them - I do see the advice on my SSI score (that's your social selling index and an insight into how far your posts may be seen).Â
But what I don't have is a direct messaging strategy for the platform. And this is something that Sabrina goes into in detail during the episode. She shares part of her strategy and it is a total light bulb moment.Â
If you post on LinkedIn - or want to get more from the platform - go listen to the show.Â
If you want some show notes for this episode - hit reply and I'll add them when I've got back and washed 25 billion loads of muddy clothes.Â
See you on the other side.Â
Fiona
ps. next week's show is about hidden content. It's a quick 'un but good.Â
